SIQUIJOR, Siquijor, May 16 (PIA) -- The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Visayas Regional Office will conduct the BSP Piso Caravan BSP Piso Caravan on May 20, 2023, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at Siquijor Capital Square, Municipality of Siquijor.
The Piso Caravan covers the exchanges of coins and unfit currencies with the public.
The caravan will also feature learning sessions on the topics on Digital Payments and Cyber Hygiene Practices, BSP Clean Note Policy and BSP’s Coin Recirculation Program and 1000-Piso Polymer Banknote; and account onboarding activities with financial service providers (FSPs) such as GCash, Maya, RCBC Diskartech Land Bank of Philippines, PalawanPay, BPI Direct Banko, Starpay, Asia United Bank, Union Bank, Philippine National Bank, PS Bank, Cebuana Bank and Universal Storefront Services Corporation.
This activity aims to promote recirculation of coins by flushing out idle coins from storage and strengthen the effective implementation of BSP Clean Note and Coin Policy, and Coin Recirculation Program.
It also seeks to promote BSP’s financial inclusion and digitalization advocacies through account-opening of digital wallets, online bank accounts and basic deposit accounts with invited FSPs. (RAC/PIA7 Siquijor with reports from BSP)
