CSC organizes gov’t online career fair for jobseekers

QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC), in partnership with JobStreet.com, is spearheading the Government Online Career Fair (GOCF) from September 18 to 22, 2023.

The event aims to provide a virtual platform where jobseekers can explore and pursue various career opportunities in the government sector.

The GOCF will enable jobseekers to interact directly with government agencies, enabling them to learn about job openings, the prerequisites for each position, and even submit their applications and requirements online.

CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles expressed the commission's commitment to promoting equal opportunities for all Filipino citizens, encouraging applications from diverse backgrounds, including persons with disabilities, members of indigenous communities, and those with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions.

We are inviting fresh graduates, first time jobseekers, and other interested applicants to participate in this year’s GOCF. Organized as part of the celebration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), this online job fair serves as a perfect venue for civil service eligibles from all over the country to apply for vacant positions in the government,” said Nograles.

In order to participate in the GOCF, jobseekers must have a JobStreet account. Those who do not have an existing account can easily create one by visiting JobStreet.com.ph and selecting the "Sign Up FREE Now" link available on the MyJobStreet webpage.

To streamline the application process, jobseekers are advised to download and complete the Personal Data Sheet (PDS) available on the CSC Website (https://csc.gov.ph/downloads/category/223-csc-form-212-revised-2017-personal-data-sheet). This PDS should be kept ready for upload during the GOCF week.

On the GOCF week, jobseekers will have access to information about participating government agencies and their available job positions through the dedicated GOCF link on the JobStreet website. Applying for positions is as simple as clicking the "Apply" button within each agency's listing. After submission, partner agencies will conduct an initial assessment and provide applicants with updates on their application status, along with any further instructions or requirements, through email or text message.

Nograles reminded jobseekers to carefully review the qualification standards and competencies required for each position, emphasizing that eligibility is not the sole requirement for appointment.

“For the past three years, GOCF has provided a fast, accessible, and efficient way to increase the pool of efficient and qualified individuals in the civil service. We are once again looking forward to have new government employees that will be part of the 1.9 million civil servants working toward national development,” said Nograles.
