Over 50 schoolers benefit from 1st Cagayan PMFC Project CASI

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - Over 50 pupils from two schools in Tuguegarao City expressed their gratitude to the 1st Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company and its advisory group for the provision of free school supplies.

In their recent Community Outreach activity at Dadda Elementary School and Namabbalan Integrated School (NIS), the pupils who were identified by the school's management as indigent received new bags containing notebooks, pencils, and sharpeners that came from donors.

Police Major Rexon Casaway, force commander, said the recent distribution of school supplies in the said schools is part of the company’s Project CASI, or Comprehensive Assistance to Students and Indigenous People, which aims to distribute necessary materials to deserving students under their area of operations.

PMaj Casaway added that the recent implementation of Project CASI is with the support of the members of the Company Advisory Group (CAG) through its Project amBAGan, who initially lobbied the activity in line with the reopening of classes for the academic year 2023-2024.

Earlier, the force commander said that the Project CASI, together with other socio-economic, relief assistance, environmental, and scholarship programs, is one of the diplomatic approaches of their company in carrying out the WIN mantra, which stands for ‘Whole-hearted, Innovative, and Notable Service'.

For her part, Fe Soriano, mother of one of the beneficiaries from Namabbalan Intehrated School, lauded the initiative of the groups, highlighting that it is timely since she did not buy a new bag for her daughter this school year as it entails additional expenses.

“Maraming salamat po sa inyo [1st CPMFC at CAG] sa pagbabahagi ng bag. Hindi po talaga ako bumili ng bag, kasi yung pambili po sana ay para na lang sa iba pang kakailanganin ng mga anak ko. Okay pa naman kahit papano yung bag na ginagamit niya,” she said.

Aside from school supplies, the groups also distributed hygiene and medical kits to identified parents.

“Maraming maraming salamat po sa handog ninyong biyaya sa aming mga anak at pati na rin po sa mga magulang na nakatanggap, napasaya niyo po kami at sana pagpalain po kayong lahat ng ating mahal na Panginoon,” said Syd Lance Agustin, one of the mothers of the beneficiaries.

The group also distributed snacks to the beneficiaries, including other schoolchildren present during the two separate activities.

“Big thanks to Project CASI of the 1st Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company and Project amBAGan of the 1st CPMFC Advisory Council for providing learning kits to the identified learners of Namabbalan Integrated School and medical and hygiene kits given to identified parents sponsored by DOH,” said Juan Lappay, principal of NIS, in a Facebook post.

On the other hand, the groups are now in the planning stage for the conduct of a ‘Bike For A Cause’ set tentatively for either October or November.

The CAG is headed by Hilaria M. Barsabal, and members are from various sectors such as youth, media, entrepreneurs, medical practitioners, lawyers, fitness enthusiasts, and church leaders, among others. (MDCT/PIA Cagayan)
