PBBM to hold first presidential visit in Aklan

KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) --  President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., will visit the province of Aklan since becoming the highest official of the country on Oct. 6.

During his visit, he will be distributing 1,000 sacks of rice to recipients identified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 6, and Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) and farm implements from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

Marcos will also officiate in the ceremonial distribution of toolkits to trainees of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and cash allowances to the agency’s Aklanon scholars.

Other agencies slated to distribute assistance to their respective beneficiaries, which will also be ceremonially handed by the President are the  Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Agriculture (DA), and Department of Health (DOH), per initial preparatory meeting conducted Oct. 4 hosted by the provincial government of Aklan under Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores.

From the ABL Sports and Cultural Center in Kalibo, the President will proceed to Tangalan, Aklan for the distribution of assistance to various sectors there.

He will be distributing 16 fiberglass fishing boats for fisherfolks whose bancas were destroyed during Typhoon Ursula, cash assistance to hog raisers affected by the African Swine Fever from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation, emergency housing assistance from the National Housing Authority, and farm equipment from the Department of Agrarian Reform.

Venue of the event in Tangalan is the Tangalan Sports and Cultural Center. 

For his first visit to Aklan, organizers said the President will be accompanied by Secretary Rex Gatchalian of DSWD, and Secretary Anton Lagdameo, Special Assistant to the President.  (AGP/VGV/PIA Aklan)
