He added that the NGCP is coordinating with the electric cooperatives to ensure that preparatory measures will be in place to ensure that power supply will not be a problem during actual voting and canvassing of votes.

The NGCP substations will be manned with two shifts from Oct. 28 to Nov. 1.

For its part, the Capiz Electric Cooperative (CAPELCO) has prepared contingency plans to ensure continuous availability of power supply on election day.

The electric cooperative will provide the Provincial Joint Peace Security Coordinating Council with contact

numbers and other information to improve coordination and firm-up response mechanisms if unscheduled power interruptions will hinder the election processes.

Based on the Commission on Elections Provincial Office records, a number of voting centers, usually upland areas, in Tapaz town out of the 466 voting centers in the province have no access to CAPELCO's power grid.

The members of the electoral board from these voting centers in the upland areas will conduct the canvassing of votes in the town center, said Tapaz Public Information Officer Stephen Faeldin. (AGP/AAL/PIA Capiz)
