DTI-Aklan conducts 'Undas Bantay Presyo' 2023

KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)- Aklan joined the synchronized nationwide "Undas Bantay Presyo" on Thursday, Oct. 26, in monitoring prices and supply of candles, bottled water, and flowers.

This is in preparation for the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day this November.

DTI-Aklan Team led by Provincial Director Ma. Carmen Iturralde said that this activity aims to safeguard the public and ensure that the prices are within the suggested retail price (SRP).

She added that this is to check and guarantee the adequacy of supply of the aforesaid commodities as the demand for such, is expected to increase.

A total of 12 flower shops along Roxas Avenue in Kalibo town were visited and monitored to check the prices and supply of flowers and their accessories.

“As per inquiries by the team to the flower shop owners, they sourced out mainly from Dangwa in Manila and Baguio. The supply of flowers here remains sufficient as there will be gradual deliveries before November 1,” Iturralde said.

The team also visited four stalls in the Kalibo Eastern Side Terminal and three supermarkets in Aklan to check the prices and supply of bottled water and candles.
