PASAY CITY -- The Bureau of Customs-Port of NAIA (BOC-NAIA) cleared 324,090 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, which arrived via Flight AHK/LD457 on July 26, 2021 at around 9:20PM at Terminal 3 - Bay 114 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). The said vaccines were pre-cleared by the Port of NAIA’s One Stop Shop prior its arrival, and immediately escorted to the designated cold storage facility.
Earlier this year, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine from the United States of America was granted an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Last May 10, 2021, the first batch of Pfizer vaccine-shipment covering 193,050 doses arrived in the Philippines and was pre-cleared and released by Bureau of Customs. To date, 3,364,920 doses of Pfizer vaccines have already been cleared by the Bureau since May.
Under the leadership of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, the Port of NAIA headed by District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan, commits to expeditiously facilitate the processing and release of COVID-19 vaccine shipments in full support of the government’s vaccination program to address the COVID-19 pandemic. (BOC)
