More than 500k Pfizer vaccine doses procured by PH gov't arrive

MANILA -- 562,770 doses of government procured Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday night, July 21 via DHL Flight LD457.

Of this figure, 51,480 doses of Pfizer will be allocated each for Cebu and Davao, while the rest of the supply will be deployed to Metro Manila.

This is part of the 40 million Pfizer doses the national government secured in June.

National Task Force Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer and Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, Jr., joined by Health Usec. Carolina Vidal Taino, National Task Force Against COVID-19 adviser Dr. Ted Herbosa Country manager Edilberto Reyes and Alet Gaw, Vaccine Category Lead of Pfizer Philippines at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 witnessed the arrival of the said vaccines.

To date, a total of 3,038,670 Pfizer vaccines arrived in the Philippines including the donation from the COVAX facility which arrived on May 10 and June 10.  (National Task Force Against COVID-19)
