Port of NAIA conducts Stakeholders Forum, awards top importers

MANILA - The Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA led by District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan conducted    the 2021 Midyear Stakeholder Forum and Awarding of Top Importers on August 04, 2021 via Zoom Video Conference at the NAIA Customhouse Building in Pasay City, Manila.

In promoting transparency and integrity, the Port of NAIA initiated said forum to serve as an avenue for stakeholders in raising concerns, queries, comments and suggestions and enable the port to provide better government service.  District Collector Talusan presented the developments and innovations by the Port of NAIA to the stakeholders to ensure that the accomplishments, programs and policies essential to stakeholders' awareness are effectively communicated to all participants.

Among the discussions presented by Collector Talusan include the port's seamless communication channels and various initiatives simplifying processes and clearance time of transactions, through digital systems and innovations such as the QR Client Feedback Form, NAIA Ticketing System, QR Coding System, Unpaid Monitoring Dashboard, One-Stop Shop Dashboard, and the Active Hotlines of NAIA offices including warehouses in which stakeholders are encouraged to utilize.

The Top 20 Importers of the Port of NAIA were also awarded and given due recognition for massive contribution to the port's revenue performance from January to June 2021. The top spot was bagged by Samsung Electronics Philippines with total midyear revenue contribution of P1.22B, followed by the Top 2 - Globe Telecom Inc. with P838M collection, and Top 3 - Smart Communications Inc. with P501M collection.

The BOC Port of NAIA was able to surpass its January to June 2021 midyear collection target by collecting P18.556B, up by 25.68% compared to the 2020 midyear collection in the same period, despite the significant decrease in number of arrival flights by 47% this year. In addition this, the Port also exceeded its July revenue target by 3.43% or P111.60M with collection of P3.36B against its P3.25B target.

The importer-awardees and representatives expressed their gratitude to the port for initiating said activity to recognize their contributions. They appreciate the conduct of the stakeholder forum for discussion on concerns, programs, and policies.

The Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA under the leadership of BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero will continue to enhance stakeholder engagement and introduce reform initiatives and improve systems and services to satisfy the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. (BOC)
