The Provincial Advisory Council (PAC) of Siquijor Provincial Police Office (SPPO) and the Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation (SKPF) have combined forces to administer a two-day Article Writing and Graphic Design Workshop for around 30 aspiring journalists on July 28-29 at Caipilan, Siquijor, Siquijor.

The workshop aimed to impart journalism principles and guidelines to the young aspiring journalists and SPPO personnel to eventually create an organization of journalists in the province.

Resource speaker Rizalie Calibo of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Siquijor encouraged the 30 participants to be responsible with the information they share to the public especially on social media platforms.

“We write to express, not to impress,” said Calibo, while sharing basic journalistic rules for effective and clear writing.

Calibo was the resource speaker on the second day.

On the first day, the resource speakers were Cindy Bonachita of the Office of the Congressman who talked about Social Media Management and SKPF member Peter Enorio on Graphic Designing.

The activity was participated in by youth and PAC members from the six municipalities led by PAC Chair,  Provincial Government of Siquijor Spokesperson and SKPF President Brylle Deeiah Tumarong, and the uniformed personnel from SPPO and its  municipal stations.
