CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental (PIA)--The 58th Infantry "Dimalulupig" Battalion (58th IB) in collaboration with the Agila Shriners held a Christmas Outreach Program at Sitio Tuganay, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Claveria, here, amid the coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 pandemic.
A total of 70 children received early Christmas gifts, warm meals, and entertainment while their parents were given Christmas gift packs containing goods for the Noche Buena festivities.
"This holiday reminds us of the true spirit of Christmas: giving, caring, and sharing, we hope that these simple gifts from us bring you joy as you welcome and celebrate the Christmas season," said Municipal Trial Courts Opol Presiding Judge Isagani Ravidas shared in his message.
Meanwhile, 58th IB Commander Ricky L Canatoy expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the event's sponsors and commended the community for their unwavering support in maintaining Sitio Tuganay's peace and order.
“Padayon lang ta sa atong matinud-anay na pagtinabangay ug pagpaningkamot para sa kalambuan ug kahusay ug kalinaw sa atong komunidad para ang inyong panginabuhi dili mabalda, ang mga kabatan-onan maka-eskwela. Kay lahi ra gyud ang komunidad nga gubot, ug wa'y pagtinabangay,” he said.
(Let us continue on helping one another, and work on development and peace for our community so your livelihood won't be affected and the chidren will be able to continue their studies. It is really difficut to live in a community with chaos and no cooperation among people). (58IB/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
