To ensure the smooth and orderly distribution of the vast military camp, Estrella tapped Amihilda J. Sangcopan, Undersecretary for Mindanao Affairs and Rural Development, to head the newly created Task Force Camp Keithley Military Reservation Executive Committee, to oversee the perimeter surveying, procurement activities, validation, documentation, and approval of subdivision plans.
Sangcopan will be assisted by Undersecretaries, Atty. Kazel C. Celeste of the Field Operations Office and Atty. Napoleon U. Galit of the Legal Affairs Office, particularly in areas subject to operational and legal interventions. Celeste and Galit will serve as co-vice chairpersons.
Director Abdullah M. Linog, the focal person for government-owned lands in Mindanao Field Operations Office, Atty. Merlita S. Capinpuyan, the assistant director for Operations in Western Mindanao, and Rushdi A. Mindalano, the DAR-Lanao del Norte provincial officer, will serve as members of the task force.
Camp Keithley was formerly a military base of the United States of America. It was built at the start of the Philippine-American War in the early 20th century. Former President Elpidio Quirino converted it into a military reservation area on December 23, 1953, by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 453. (DAR)
