GENERAL SANTOS CITY - In observance of the Fire Prevention Month, SM City General Santos in partnership with BFP - General Santos Fire Station conducted a fire drill simulation exercise.
The simulation aims to build a safety culture in case of fire emergency and familiarize and reinforce employees' knowledge on proper evacuation routes and protocols.
The more familiar employees are with fire drill procedures, the higher the chance that employees remain safe and well during fire emergency, mall manager Engr. Hermon L. Hernandez noted.
In a statement, Hernandez further said that "From the fire demo last Feb 13, we now simulated a drill to improve preparedness from evacuation, crowd control, fire fighting, clearing, and first aid.
Participants learned their roles in ensuring team members are safe and properly accounted for."
This nationwide program of SM supermalls will help strengthen the use of correct procedures, remove panic and uncertainty among SM employees, tenants, affiliates, and above all the shoppers in case of fire emergency. (SM City General Santos City)
