POLOMOLOK, South Cotabato -- A mother from Polomolok says she has a story she'll tell for years to come.
Rona Dag-uman, 38 was in labor and on her way to the hospital aboard a tricycle on Thursday night (March 23), when she realized she was not going to make it and eventually gave birth inside a tricycle along Cannery Road, Polomolok, South Cotabato.
Luckily for her, members of the Polomolok Fire Station (PFS) were quick to respond to the call for help.
Mommy Rona who delivered a healthy baby girl has nothing but praise for the firefighters who helped her in her delivery. She is now recuperating in Heramil Hospital.
“I am very thankful for the help of the firefighters from Polomolok Fire Station for their quick and timely response and brought me to the hospital,” Dag-uman said in vernacular.
Responders from Polomolok Fire Station said they received an emergency radio call that a mother is giving birth inside a tricycle beside the road. They attended to the mom and the baby. After performing the necessary newborn care, the patient was transported to the hospital.
The responding team was composed of PFS Emergency Medical Services (EMS) chief FO3 Quincy Joquiño, FO1 Robiejade Antigra, and Fire Aides Jeffrey Maslog, and Renalyn Pagaran.
Several netizens took to social media to share their admiration for the members of PFS for a job well done.
For his part, PFS Fire Marshal Insp. Lindon P. Narvaza lauded the work of his personnel.
“Although normal part ng duty natin yan sa taong bayan, nagpapasalamat pa rin tayo and we recognize the efforts of our firefighters and responders,” Fire Marshal Narvaza said. (SFO1 Philip Chan/BFP-PFS)
