MANILA -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the rehabilitation of a road in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija allowing easier access to an agricultural community in the area.
DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Central Luzon Operations Roberto R. Bernardo, said that the Philippine Business Regulation Information System (PBRIS) Extension Lateral A-1 Canal Roadway was upgraded in Barangay Rajal Centro.
According to Director Tolentino, the DPWH Nueva Ecija Second District Engineering Office (DEO) implemented the concrete paving of the 1.85-kilometer stretch of two (2)-lane, five (5)-meter-wide road in the amount of P15.48 million.
Locals can expect a boost in the agricultural economy as the newly-concreted road provides farmers with safer and more efficient transport route in delivering products to market centers in Sta. Rosa and other towns of the province of Nueva Ecija.
Started on February 2023 to June 2023, the road rehabilitation project was funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2023 through the DPWH’s Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG) and Kalsada Tungo sa Patubigan (KATUBIGAN) Programs. (DPWH)
