QUEZON CITY -- Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles encouraged human resource (HR) practitioners to continuously update and enhance their skills to cope with the dynamic work environment in government service.

In his speech at the CSC Regional Office XI Colloquium of HR Management Practitioners (HRMPs) held on 29 and 30 June 2023 at Sotogrande Hotel, Davao City, Chairperson Nograles noted that being equipped with the necessary knowledge is imperative for HR practitioners to stay current and effective in their roles.

The two-day conference, attended by over 200 HRMPs from different government offices, local government units, government-owned and controlled corporations, and state universities and colleges in Region XI, aimed to equip CSC’s partners - HR professionals and industry experts – with proficiency in the most recent developments, obstacles, and effective methods in managing HR.

“The CSC acknowledges the crucial role of HR practitioners in ensuring efficient public service delivery and your significant contribution to implementing our HR and Organization Development programs, projects, and policies. And our goal is to offer valuable insights and strategies that can assist in successfully navigating the future of HR in your own respective institutions,” he said.

With the theme “HR Forward: Navigating the Challenging Landscape of Human Resource,” the workshop discussed topics ranging from positive mental attitude, employee discipline, and financial literacy to guide HR leaders in driving positive change in their organizations.

The conference also served as a venue to discuss relevant HR rules and policies, as well as the implementation of the CSC's Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) aimed at elevating public sector HR to a level of excellence for good governance.

“CSC reaffirms our commitment to recognizing and giving importance and appreciation for the work carried out by you, our HRMPs. We are committed to actively listening to your input, consulting with you, and providing necessary clarification and explanations – just as a good partner does to foster a successful relationship,” assured Chairperson Nograles.

Also present during the colloquium were CSC Commissioners Aileen Lourdes A. Lizada and Ryan Alvin R. Acosta, Assistant Commissioner Ariel G. Ronquillo, CSC Regional Office XI Regional Director Nathan Eamiguel, CSC Human Resource and Policies Standards Office Director IV Jennifer Timbol, together with Department of Health - Davao Center for Health Development Dr. Junelle B.
