ILIGAN CITY--More registration hubs are set to be installed by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to advance the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and cater to more clients in the area.

PSA-Lanao del Norte PhilSys Focal Person Robe James Desierto said they are hoping to acquire 98 additional registration kits next month, 30 of which will be stationed at the registration centers in Iligan City while all municipalities in the province of Lanao del Norte are assured to have its own hub.

He said more kits will be deployed at the authority’s satellite office in Iligan City and at the Robinsons Place Iligan hub as remaining kits are to be placed in areas provided by the city local government once proper coordination will be done.

Desierto further said a mobile registration is planned to be pushed once they see the necessity of such.

“As of now, wala pa nakacoordinate sa LGU kung asa ilang mahatag na area or venue. Sa amoa sa PSA, inig-abot ato [sa registration kits], madungagan namo siya ug three para six registration kits na ang operational and sa Robinsons, tulo para six na pud ang operational, and the rest, mao na ang sa LGU or possibly basin magmobile registration mi,” said Desierto.

[As of now, we have not coordinated yet with the LGU as to the areas or venues they can provide. We, at PSA, when [the registration kits] arrive, we will add three so that six registration kits will already be operational and at Robinsons, another three so that there will also be six operational, and the rest, those will be for the LGU or possible, we will have mobile registration.] 

PSA-LDN has currently 24 registration kits deployed in the municipalities with a bigger population like Balo-i, Kolambugan, Tubod, Lala, Kapatagan and Sultan Naga Dimaporo. If the kits will reach 98, Desierto said they will put up registration centers in all municipalities.

Iligan City has two registration centers operating through the PSA-Lanao del Norte satellite office and the newly-launched mall-based hub at Robinsons Place Iligan which have three registration kits each. (CRG/PIA-10/ICIC Lanao del Norte)
