ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--To accelerate the ongoing National ID registration in the city, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Lanao del Norte and the Robinsons Land Corporation signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on July 12 to officially signify their partnership to bring the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration closer and more convenient to the residents.
Following the closed deal between the two parties, a registration center is opened at Robinsons Place Iligan to allow at least 180 registrants per day to complete the Step 2 PhilSys registration.
“This is actually our form of public service because we would like to clawback to the community where we are doing business, our own share of role and social obligations as good corporate citizens of Iligan and Lanao del Norte,” said Robinsons Land Corporation Regional Operations Manager Danilo Camat in an exclusive interview.
Camat said Robinsons Land Corporation has already entered into a MOA with the Philippine Statistics Authority wherein their malls would be engaged as registration sites of the national ID.
In Mindanao, General Santos and Iligan have already installed a mall-based registration center through Robinsons Land Corporation while Butuan is set to open its own hub. Other Robinsons malls in Luzon and Visayas are also recognized to be doing a similar move.
Camat said their corporation, specifically the Robinsons Place Iligan, has been continuously partnering with government agencies such as the PSA, Department of Health and City Health Office for the ongoing vaccination program, and soon, the Commission on Elections for the voter’s registration.
“We hope to continuously serve the public through the Philippine Statistics Authority by volunteering our spaces as convenient venues for registration,” he said.
As Camat finds the partnership of the two parties sturdy, he thanked the government for choosing them to be their partner in public service.
“We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the Philippine Statistics Authority for allowing us to be their partner in this noble Philippine ID registration, Philippine ID system. As good corporate citizens of Iligan and Lanao del Norte, we would like to assure you of our partnership in public service not only with PSA but as well as with DOH and City Health Office for the government’s vaccination program, the upcoming voter’s registration of the COMELEC and other similar entities,” he said.
On the other hand, the PSA-Lanao del Norte also conveyed its gratitude to the corporation for its support to the government’s initiatives.
“We are very fortunate that Robinsons Malls all over the country offer to have registration centers made inside the mall. Thank you so much Robinsons management to the support of our endeavours to accessibly implement the National ID registration,” said PSA-Lanao del Norte Chief Statistical Specialist Osler Mejares.
With the now ongoing PhilSys registration at Robinsons Place Iligan, the management calls on the public to submit themselves for the national registration as the conduciveness of the area is very much assured.
“We would like to encourage all Iliganons, as well as the residents of Lanao del Norte to come over and have yourselves registered in this Philippine ID System. You do not have to worry, we have a convenient place where you can register,” said Camat. (CRG/PIA-10/ICIC Lanao del Norte)
