PCOO communicates Duterte Legacy to Sibugaynons

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Aug 26 (PIA) – The Duterte legacy communications campaign gives people the birds' eye view of what has been done for the country and the Filipino people for the last five years.

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Chief Sec. Martin M. Andanar, in his radio guesting over DXMG Radio Bisdak, in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay shared the Duterte legacy to Sibugaynons saying ,“when you report this Duterte Legacy, you are telling the people, inyong gisalig inyong kaugmaon kay Presidente Duterte (you are entrusting your future to PresidnetDuterte)." 

Andanar said it is the people’s right to know if their expectations from this administration were met or delivered and not just left unaccomplished or purely lip service.

Andanar said he is proud to report that, so far, deliverables were successfully accomplished by the Duterte administration. He enumerated some major accomplishments, such as the signing of the Bangsamoro Organic law in 2018, saying that “namulat ang atong kababayan diha sa Muslim Mindanao na aduna nay kahusay ug kalinaw (our Muslim brothers and sisters in Mindanao now feel the peace and tranquility).” 

He also mentioned the 18,433 rebel returnees assisted through the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed-Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), the 9.8million Technical Education, Skills Development Authority (TESDA) graduates from 2016 to 2021, and the two million Alternative Learning System (ALS) completers under the Department of Education (DepEd).

He also mentioned in passing the Boracay 
rehabilitation efforts, the Php62 Billion worth of smuggled goods confiscated by the government, and the 2.4M farmers who benefited from the Rice Tarification Law. 

Sec. Andanar also included in his list of Duterte accomplishments the AFP modernization efforts (24 new military assets, to include warships, air support, air craft and helicopter).

The Php500 Billion assistance given to the poor or a total of 4.2 million 4Ps beneficiaries all over the country, and lower income tax enjoyed by the 99% wage earners under sa TRAIN Law.

The PCOO chief also mentioned, before the start of the pandemic that 6 million Filipinos were lifted out of poverty as poverty incidence decreased from 24% to about 13% before the pandemic.

“We really hope that the next administration will continue this Duterte legacy, this will make their jobs very easy once we transition, Andanar said.

He revealed, President Duterte plans to go around the country for his “Pasasalamat” to personally extend his gratitude to the people. (RVC/EDT/JPA/PIA9-Zamboanga Sibugay)
