BAIS CITY, Negros Oriental, Oct. 21 (PIA) -- The Pag-IBIG Fund Dumaguete Branch brings its services closer residents here with the “Lingkod Pag-IBIG on Wheels” (LPOW) Program.

Using a truck as a mobile office, the Pag-IBIG staff here were able to facilitate the processing of claims, loans, and membership verification form for existing members in Bais City and even membership application from individuals who are interested to become members.

Ang amo ra gyud purpose ani is ma-reach out namo ang areas nga dili maabot sa Dumaguete Branch kay layo-layo. Kanang lagyo bitaw. Mogasto pa ka ug pila (Our aim here is to reach members in areas that are far from the Dumaguete Branch so that they won’t have to pay for their fare),” said Pag-IBIG Dumaguete Branch Manager Felix Garan.

The LPOW truck was stationed at the entrance of the Bais City Gymnasium and Evacuation Center since Oct. 20.
Also part of the services offered by the LPOW include enrollment in the Modified Pag-IBIG (MP) II Program and issuance of Pag-IBIG Loyalty Cards.

Some employees of Bais City also applied for Pag-IBIG Loyalty Cards.

Garan said one advantage of owning a Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card is cardholders can now make transactions pertaining to short-term loan and other services online or through the Pag-IBIG App since the system requires them to have their own card.

Cardholders also enjoy discounts in selected partner merchants and stores of Pag-IBIG by presenting their loyalty cards.

Pag-IBIG members from Bais City welcomed this move from the agency.

Priscilla Calumpong, a public school teacher, went to the LPOW to process her loan.

“I’m happy kay na-cater ko ron. Dili nami mu-adto pa og Dumaguete kay sa online pod wala pod na-cater. Unsa kahay lapses anang online na wala na-cater ang among objective. Thank you sa Pag-IBIG on Wheels Services (I’m happy because they were able to assist me today. I no longer have to go to Dumaguete or transact online. I don’t know if there are any lapses online because our transactions were not processed there. I’m thankful for the Pag-IBIG on Wheels Services),” Calumpong said.

The LPOW first went to Bayawan City on Oct. 17, 18, and 19.

“Daghan gud na-serve nato na member. For three days daghan nag-loan. Daghan ang nagkuha og loyalty card. Nakita namo na na-ignite ba katung di tig-loan. Tan-aw nila nga mas dali kay naa na gyud didto (We were able to serve a lot of our members there. A lot of people also applied for a loan within three days and many also availed of the loyalty cards. We noticed that many members were interested to file a loan probably because we are already in their area),” Garan said.

He added that they were able to process almost a hundred loan applications and issued an average of 70 loyalty cards within the three days they were in Bayawan City.

Aside from Bais City, the LPOW will be at the Guihulngan City Auditorium on Oct. 24 and 25; Queensgate Larena, Siquijor on Oct. 26 and 27; and Siquijor Capital Square, Siquijor, Siquijor on Oct. 28. (RAL/PIA Negros Oriental)
