With the purpose to strengthen the PIA’s workforce, Director General Ramon Lee Cualoping III pointed out in his opening remarks delivered by Assistant Director General Andrea Lacuesta that one of the priorities of the agency is to develop and support employee engagement activities that contribute to the overall well-being of the PIA family.

Assistant Director General Lacuesta said, "We believe that it is vital to rebalance and to adjust to whatever is going on in our lives, and through this seminar, we aim to allow PIA, BCS, and FOI employees to feel safe and supported to cultivate a sense of wellbeing for themselves and for those we lead."

Some of the takeaways from the seminar is how important "Work life balance is in having a work-life harmony". According to Brother Obet Cabrillas we must bear in mind that for us to achieve success in our work we must value the other factors in our lives.

Another topic presented in the seminar is how, we, as ordinary people working in the field of development communication, must also be guided by the theory of the "6 Blind men and the Elephant", where we recognize and respect other people’s own opinions and perspectives in life.

To sum up the seminar, Bro. Cabrillas shared the meaning of BALANCE in life with the following factors: Boundaries, Adaptability, Love, Action, Nourishment, Chemistry, and Excellence.

As PIA believes in the power of having a balance at work and in life, employees from the PIA Central and Regional Offices, Freedom of Information Office, and Bureau of Communications Services attended the seminar in the PIA Auditorium, via Zoom, and through a live stream at PIA i-Hayag Publication Facebook group page.

Meanwhile, in her closing remarks, Deputy Director General Eileen Cruz commended all the employees for all their effort and support in taking part in all the successful wellness activities. She also shared her takeaways on how an individual can overcome life challenges by not overcomplicating things and promoting a well-balanced life routine.

The said seminar is one of the lined-up activities of the month-long Christmas celebration which aims to inspire and empower the employees with the values of merit, service, and excellence. (MGR – PIA CPSD)
