CORTES, Bohol, April 8 (PIA) -- The Francisco Dagohoy Municipal Hospital of Inbanga town is set to be renamed as Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital (FDMH).
This as the hospital that the Department of Health (DOH) established in 1985 was subsequently devolved to the local government of Bohol through the operation of the Local Government Code of Republic Act 7160.
Since April 1, 1991, the Provincial Government of Bohol operated and managed the same hospital.
When the hospital, which ran under the new management, experienced its re-birth pangs, many people mistakenly sought from Inabanga municipal government the proper funds and services, affecting the local government’s performance perception.
As the provincial government was also securing the necessary funds to sustain its operations, the hospital had its share of criticism, with Inabanga taking the brunt of the derision.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan, in a need to correct the public’s assumption and to clarify the matter, decided in its session to officially rename the municipal hospital to Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital.
Authored and sponsored by Board Member Greg Crispinito Jala and co-authored and co-sponsored by Nathaniel Binlod, Romulo Cepedoza, Aldner Damalerio, and the presiding officer, the proposed ordinance would necessitate formal notification letters for information.
The ordinance said formal notification letters establishing the change of name should be shared with the Department of Health, National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and the component municipalities under the catchment of the said hospital and other parties concerned. (RAHC/PIA7 Bohol)
