MANDAUE CITY, Cebu July 1 (PIA) -- The local government unit of Mandaue City led by Mayor Jonas Cortes showcased its homegrown talents through various cultural and heritage performances as the city hosted this year’s Regional Association of Development Information Officers (RADIO7) Convention Fellowship Night on June 28 at the Bai Hotel, Mandaue City.

The event was highlighted by the vibrant dance performances from the Mandaue Cultural Dance Troupe and song performances from local talents who gave the participants of the regional conference a unique kind of entertainment. 

Mandaue City Public Information Officer Karla Victoria Cortes, in her message on behalf of the Mandaue City government, said the event was fitting with the goal of their city towards tourism development.

"Our commitment to sustainable tourism aligns perfectly with the theme of this event, Strengthening Digital Information for Sustainable Tourism Development Towards Economic Recovery. We understand the importance of harnessing digital platforms to promote our cultural treasures while treasuring the long-term preservation of our environment,” said Cortes.

“Mandaue City offers an array of experiences that captivate our senses. Beyond our cultural heritage, Mandaue City also prides itself on being a vibrant hub of commerce and innovation,” she added.

The fellowship night was one of the highlights of the three-day RADIO7 Regional Conference which was also attended by Mandaue City Councilors Jen Del Mar and Editha Cabahug.

Over 100 public information and tourism officers from the four provinces in Central Visayas; Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor graced the annual gathering which was hosted by the Cebu Association of City and Municipal Public Information Officers (CAOCAMPIO).
