DILG-7 set to create Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Council, LGRC in NegOr

DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, July 10 (PIA) – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) here has gathered heads and representatives of government agencies and non-government organizations to organize and orient the prospective members of the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Council (MSAC) for the creation of a Local Government Resource Center (LGRC) in the city.

DILG-7 Assistant Regional Director Maria Loisella Lucino has oriented the potential members of the council here on the basic concept in setting up LGRC as knowledge hub for data from different agencies that would be accessible for barangay residents.

LGRC will serve as the leading resource center for enhancing local governance capacity and performance in the province.

On the other hand, MSAC’s primary objective is to foster community relationships and strengthen networks and partnerships in building a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.

Over a dozen of heads and representatives from different national government agencies, non-government organizations, academe, and private sectors joined the orientation.

Lucino presented the concept in library and information management in the center where local governments can greatly benefit from having an information source that can address the knowledge needs of their constituents.

During the orientation, DILG Provincial Director Farah Gentuya showed the operations of the LGRRC, the roles and responsibilities of the members and the establishment of the LGRC. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
