QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC) invites government officials and employees to join the nationwide fun run and tree planting activity on September 17, 2023 (Sunday). The event is in celebration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).

 CSC, in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and its attached agencies, will conduct  the Plant-Run simultaneously in 16 regions across the country.

According to CSC, the initiative aims to raise funds for the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani program, which pays tribute to government workers who lost their lives in the line of duty. The families of these heroes will receive a one-time financial assistance and scholarship opportunities.

"We are inviting our 1.8 million civil servants to participate in this fun, exciting, and meaningful event. Aside from promoting an active lifestyle and environmental conservation, the proceeds from this activity will provide financial aid to the families of our fallen heroes, who have served as exemplary public servants," CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles said.
