PHOTOS: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the 126th founding anniversary of the Philippine Army (PA) at the Philippine Army Grandstand, Lawton Avenue, Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City.
During the event, Pres. Marcos witnessed the launch of the PA's Reading List for Tactical Leaders and viewed the Static and Kinetic Display that showcases the traditional and non-traditional capabilities of the army.
The President also led the awarding ceremony of PA's Exemplary Military Personnel, Reservists, Civilian Human Resource, and other army stakeholders.
In his speech, Pres. Marcos recognized the honorable sacrifices of the army to bring peace to the nation and ensure its internal security towards improving the lives of each Filipino.
"We are gathered here today to commemorate the institution that serves as the defenders of our land and of our people. Through the years, the Philippine Army has shown patriotism and bravery that allowed our country to succeed and thrive in its pursuit of peace, of stability, and of democracy," the President expressed.
The PA, guided by the new 2040 vision, emphasized its efforts in accomplishing its mandate to serve as a strong, united, reliable ground force for the Filipino nation by continuing its modernization thrust to achieve a cross-domain capable, multi-mission ready, and world-class ground force come 2040.
