80 MisOr disadvantage workers assisted by DOLE-TUPAD

MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)--The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE X) - Misamis Oriental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Or. PFO) released money remittance KPTN reference numbers to 80 beneficiaries of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantage/Displaced Worker (TUPAD) program amounting to P292,000 at Poblacion 6 Covered Court, Balingasag.

“Nagpasalamat ko sa DOLE sa paglakip kanako nga maapil aning programa isip usa ka PWD (Person With Disability). Dako kaayo ni nga tabang para makapalit dugang sa akong pagpanambal kay ako di na makalakaw. Ako nanghinaot nga unta sa sunod nga higayon makaapil pako sa uban pa nga programa sa DOLE,” said worker-beneficiary, Alberto Edades, Jr.

[I am thankful to DOLE for including me as a beneficiary of this program, especially so that I am a PWD. The monetary assistance can defray the expenses for my medicines because I cannot walk. I am hoping that I can also be a beneficiary in some of the programs of DOLE in the future.]

The worker-beneficiaries were assigned to various social community projects such as cleaning public roads in the different barangays in the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Balingasag for 10 days which started on 5 April 2021 and ended on 16 April 2021.

Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Erven A. Yangular said when Edades’ TUPAD services concluded, he was trained and assisted towards making handicrafts to sell online and sustain his daily needs.

Yangular thanked DOLE-X for the continued partnership and support, on behalf of their Local Government Unit (LGU).

TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed. (DOLE-X Mis. Or. PFO/PIA10)
