MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--This year’s commemoration of the 2017 historic warfare here will not just be about peacebuilding-related activities but it will also include an event geared towards stimulating the economic status of this city.
The Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) announced in its recent coordination meeting that it will kick off a trade fair amidst the weeklong Marawi Week of Peace.
From May 17 until 23, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises will once again be served with an opportunity to exhibit their products at the gymnasium in the City Hall here to reach a wide range of the public.
Apart from this, TFBM Field Office Manager Asec. Felix Castro Jr. also underlined that the trade fair would also provide various relevant programs and services of government agencies and development partners.
Among which is the graduation ceremony for the finishers of the digital literacy program of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) wherein certificates of completion would be awarded.
It was likewise agreed that the said government agency would have a sim registration for visiting residents.
Moreover, the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT) said that it would bring the business name registration to the fair while a business council, particularly called Halal Investment Forum, is slated to be spearheaded.
On the part of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), it said that it would hold a registration, inquiry and issuance of the Philippine Identification (PhilID) for those who have not yet received their permanent national ID. As such, it is seeking help to make this known to the citizens so that many can avail of this opportunity.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) then stated that it would still set up a static display wherein it would showcase its equipment to entice qualified people to join its force. Additionally, it would post the requirements for those who are interested to apply, and the cost of the fees for those who would want to comply with the fire inspection.
It was relayed as well that the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) would render free legal assistance and issuance of tribal membership.
For Save the Children Philippines, it shared that it would conduct an orientation and health awareness campaign in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) as part of its commitment to continue its full support for the activities of the health department.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) also bared that at the culmination of the weeklong activity, it would have a ceremonial handover of community-based social infrastructures which would be attended by the officials of the organization and its partner, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The Community and Family Services International (CFSI), on the other hand, conveyed that it would officially hand over self-help community support to its beneficiaries.
Such committed initiatives are expected to positively aid both the business sector and the locals, however, these may be open for changes depending on the circumstances.
