DA launches livelihood project for NV IPs

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Department of Agriculture (DA) recently launched the ‘Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran ng Kababayang Katutubo’ or  4Ks Project in barangay Belance in Dupax del Norte town.

Paul Vincent  Balao, 4Ks action officer, said the project  aims to provide livelihood for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in Dupax del Norte town through the provision of various agricultural assistance.

He said that under the project, IPs can received assistance such as carabaos with hauling implement, native chickens, muscovy ducks, hybrid yellow corn seeds , jabber planters, commercial poultry grower feeds, organic and inorganic fertilizers and fruit bearing tree seedlings, among others.

Balao said  the 4Ks project will also be launched in barangay Baresbes in Quezon town.

“This project will help our IPs in utilizing their natural resources through agriculture. With this project, they will be able to earn income for their family needs,” he said.(MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
