Boac LGU, acts upon delayed ferry trips

BOAC, Marinduque -- The Committee on Transportation of the Provincial Council recently invited the members of the Committee on Franchising and Public Utilities and the Secretary of the Legislative Department of Boac to remedy the delayed schedules of ferry trips in the province.

In the said meeting, a Resolution No. 2022-115 adopted by the Legislative Branch of Boac titled 'A resolution requesting backing and espousal from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Province of Marinduque on the move of this Sanggunian particular on the unreliable and frequently delayed travel schedules of shipping companies serving the island Province of Marinduque' was given focus.

According to Vice Mayor Mark Anthony Seno, the purpose of the said resolution is to request the support of the Provincial Council on the frequent delays and non-compliance of the trip schedule of the shipping companies that are being complained by travelers entering and exiting the province.

Meanwhile, Resolution No. 2022-116 that requests Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) to set the trips Dalahican-Cawit-Dalahican and Dalahican-Buyabod-Dalahican and the Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 2023-24 which aims to restore the Manila-Marinduque and Marinduque-Manila trips of the JAC Liner bus were also discussed.

The Boac legislative branch is grateful to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Marinduque especially to the Committee on Transportation for providing support to the aspiration of the town of Boac to fix the said issue not only for the residents of Boac but for all Marinduquenos.
