Marinduque Prov'l Gov't enters into MOA with OWWA to support OFWs

BOAC, Marinduque (PIA) -- In a step towards enhancing the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and their families, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between the Provincial Government of Marinduque and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). The signing ceremony seeks to provide benefits and livelihood opportunities for both the OFWs and their children.

Present in the event were Governor Presbitero Velasco Jr., joined by OWWA Mimaropa Regional Director Gerald Tan alongside with the Municipal Mayors, Marissa Red-Martinez of Santa Cruz, Rolando Tolentino of Gasan, Boac Mayor Armi Carrion represented by Municipal Administrator Carlo Jacinto, Mogpog Mayor Augusto Leo Livelo and Buenavista Mayor Eduard Siena.

The activity also highlighted the stories and experiences of several OFWs and their families, showcasing their determination and sacrifices to secure a better future for themselves and their loved ones.

In a message, Governor Velasco expressed his eternal gratitude to these individuals for sacrificing themselves for their families’ future and for providing a large revenue for the country through remittances.

The successful MOA signing is anticipated to yield substantial results. The scholarships offered through this agreement are expected to provide deeper knowledge and opportunities for the children of OFWs. (RAMJR/PIA MIMAROPA - Marinduque)
