The Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Juan through its Municipal Health Office (MHO) conducted its annual search for Healthy Buntis Queen on October 13, 2023 at Lala-o Covered Court, San Juan, Siquijor.
The activity aims to empower pregnant women and to create awareness on the importance of good maternal nutrition, prenatal check-up, immunization, vitamin supplementation, newborn screening, and exclusive breastfeeding.

The activity has also been part of of the Department of Health's (DOH) strategies to improve the survival of women during pregnancy, prevent maternal death, and promote quality of life.
Fifteen barangays with one representative from each zone participated in the event.
Mhejin Pearl Susania of Zone 1 representing barangays Poblacion, Maite, Can-asagan and Lala-o was crowned as Buntis Queen of San Juan 2023.
First runner-up was Marycil Oguis of Zone 2 representing Solangon, Paliton and Tambisan, while second runner-up was Cathlyn Joy Paculba of Zone 3 representing barangays Candura, Cansayang, and Napo.
Finalists were Niza Manongas of Zone 4 representing Tubod, Tag-ibo, and Catulayan and Jomicah Ocay of Zone 5 representing barangays Timbaon and Cangmunag.
Minor awards went to Zone 2 for Best in Production Number, Zone 1 for Best in Casual Wear, Zone 4 as POPCOM Choice, and Zone 3 as Darling of the rowd.
Social Media winners were Zone 5 as Miss Photogenic, Zone 1 as Best Speaker, and Zone 2 for Best in Gown. (CMSabellano/PIO San Juan)
