PCOO Chief underscores communications reform in PRRD Legacy

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Aug 26 (PIA) - Communications Secretary Martin Andanar underscored several accomplishments of the Duterte Legacy contributing to major developments in the area of communications particularly in the Visayas and Mindanao.

"For a very long time, karon lang gyud gitagaan ug pagtagad ang Mindanao, in the area of communication, and we can show this. This is really evidenced," he said during an interview over a local media station in Zamboanga Sibugay.

Sec. Andanar cited one of the Build, Build, Build project of PCOO is the Mindanao Media Hub. "Nangusog gyud ko ana (I really pushed for it). The first and biggest state of the art media facility in the government to be situated in Davao City, biggest in the Philippines," he said.

He also mentioned the first Government Communication Academy, which will be situated at Bukidnon to benefit information officers from the national level down to the barangays.

“We can only hope that the next PCOO secretary will continue our reforms. We have done so much on our part," he said.

The secretary hoped the next administration will continue the Duterte legacy noting "this will make their jobs very easy once we transition". (RVC/EDT/PIA9-Zamboanga del Norte)
